The participants present at the Conference "European Ways of Brief Strategic and Systemic Therapy" 2003 in Arezzo, Italy, facing the evolution of mental health problems at the European level and the importance of the contexts in which these problems arise and are maintained, have decided the following:
1.A European NETWORK was created with the name of "Brief Strategic and Systemic Therapy European NETWORK"
2. The aim of this network, constituted by individuals and organisations, is to help people, families and larger systems facing human suffering and/or difficulties that limite their potentials.
this network will encourage further research, facilitate publications and organise scientific gatherings regarding brief strategic and systemic therapy.
This will allow the collaboration of all those therapists and researchers who, in respect of both the individual and the systems following ethical guidelines, wish to join their efforts for the fulfillment of these shared aims.
3. The participants of this meeting and founders of this network entrust the coordination of their activities to Prof. Giorgio NARDONE who was appointed coordinator of the "Brief Strategic and Systemic Therapy European NETWORK".
*** During the 3 ° Conference 2007, we took the decision to change from European toBrief Strategic and Systemic Therapy World Network.
This in virtue of the outstanding number of partecipants coming even from countries outside Europe, thus showing that there is a world-wide interest in this event.
